Objectives

In this game the main objective is to become powerful by means of raising stats, acquiring gold, gaining land and being part of a successful family.

Stats

In the game one of the main aims (as outlined in the objectives section) is to gain stats, you do this by fighting monsters with spells and weapons. Most players will choose to specialize in either casting (using a spell to attack a monster) or fighting (specific term for using a weapon to cause damage to the monster) though it is not necessary to do so. Some races are better at one attacking style than another.

Life - determines your relative toughness or "hit points".
Strength (Str) - determines the amount of damage you are able to inflict with your weapon.
Weapon Skill (WS) - determines how often you will hit and whether you will have first strike.
Agility (Agi) - determines how often you will dodge attacks.
Intelligence (Ntl) - determines the strength of your spells.
Wisdom (Wis) - determines the likelihood that your spell will hit and whether it will hit first.
Contravention (Cont) - determines you ability to interrupt your opponent's casting.

There is also another stat, Level; this is a general indicator of a player’s power.

After successfully fighting a battle you get to choose a stat to raise, you must click on the button of your chosen stat before you may fight again. One button is marked with 'Rnd' which means random and will randomly select a stat to raise. Using the Random button is not recomended for effective stat raising.

Gold

Gold is used as a currency in Elysaria, another currency is Siru but that is not used in this game. Gold can be gained by fighting monsters, pillaging kingdoms, having a mine, and getting correct answers in 'Game Quizzes', this gold goes to your 'purse' and is used to buy armour, weapons and spells.  You can also gain gold for your treasury by having a tax, farm or bank structure in your kingdom, treasury gold can be used to buy and repair structures to develop your kingdom and guards to protect your structures and treasury.

The Basics of Fighting

Weapons/Armour

Your weapons and armour are a very important factor in your effectiveness as a fighter and should not be ignored.  The numbers beside the weapons or armour drop-down menus show its trade-in price.  This value may change depending on what weapons or armour you currently have since you are given partial credit for trading in old weapons.  You must trade your weapons and armour as you can have only one of each at any given time.  Weapons and armour are automatically equipped upon purchase.  To purchase a new weapon simply click on the word 'Weapon' in the equipment table to access the weapon shop, similarly to buy armour simply click on the word 'Armour'.

Spells

Buying a spell allows you to immediately learn it.  There are two types of spell; damage spells and heal spells, damage spells magically harm your enemy whereas heal spells magically restore your life.  The numbers beside the spell drop-down menu show its trade-in price.  This value may change depending on what damage or heal spell you currently have since you are given partial credit for trading in old spells.  You must trade your damage and heal spells as you can have only one of each at any given time.  To purchase spells simply click on the words 'Attack Spell' or 'Heal Spell' in the equipment table to open up the shops for each type of spell.

Drops

When you attack a monster there is a small chance of it running away and leaving an item, this is called a drop and will be accompanied by a screen-shake (Currently not implemented).  Drops are always one item class above your current item of that type; they will immediately be equipped, replacing the item that was there previously. In a drop you can receive items higher in class than those available from the shop, these items are called Chaos items.  Chaos items have no trade-in value.

Logging

There is no need to do any special procedures to log-out.  Your character's status is automatically saved each turn and you can close your browser at any time to end play.  The Log out button is there simply as an aid to relogging.

Game Quizzes

All players receive a Game Quiz every 100 levels, if you get the question right you get gold, if you get the question wrong you get 1 'Moron Point' but if you choose the answer that is considered to be obviously wrong you get 5 Moron Points and get turned to the race of 'Moron'.  Morons do not receive proper stats so it is recommended that if you are turned into a Moron you should stop fighting until your race has been returned to normal.  To get turned back to normal you should fill in this form stating the race you were previously.  Should you get turned into a Moron you WILL be monitored closely and may be accused of macroing.  If you reach 100 moron points you WILL be banned!

Most quiz answers can be found somewhere in the manual and it is perfectly acceptable, in fact it is recommended, that you look up any answers that you are unsure about.  Any answers not found in the manual can be found either in the game or by the use of a calculator.
